About Me

My name is Kate and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. One of my
key goals as a therapist is to create a safe, supportive, and transformative
space for healing and growth. With an extensive background in music
therapy and mental health, I bring a unique approach to wellness, blending
evidence-based practices with creative, individualized care.

My love of helping people began at Shenandoah University where I
received my bachelor’s degree, and earned certifications as a Music
Therapist, Board Certified (MT-BC) and Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT).
Following my passion for holistic healing, I pursued graduate studies at
Bradley University, where I deepened my expertise in the field of
psychology and earned my graduate degree in clinical mental health
counseling.

I serve a diverse clientele, specializing in supporting individuals with
comorbid physical and cognitive or intellectual disabilities, LGBTQ+
community, and individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and
trauma. I am dedicated to utilizing a wide range of therapeutic approaches,
carefully tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Through Steady
Wellness Therapy, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where
every individual can thrive.

Couples and family counseling sessions
can be incorporate into individual
counseling or are offered as a stand
alone service. In family and couples
counseling, therapeutic approaches are
designed to support the whole system,
keeping in mind the unique needs of the
individuals who make up that system. At
Steady Wellness, we believe that natural
supports are some of the strongest
protective factors, and family and
couples counseling aims to strengthen
those supports.

Teletherapy Services

The individual counseling space is
designed to offer individualized
treatment plans to target specific
therapeutic goals. Approaches
used in the individual space vary
depending on need and are
adapted to meet you where you are
at and take you to where you'd like
to be. Come as you are, this is
YOUR space.

Individual
Counseling

A comprehensive initial assessment
helps identify a client’s specific
needs. At Steady Wellness, we
conduct a structured interview to
gain a clear understanding of these
needs. The goal of this assessment
is to get to know a client from their
perspective and with their
worldview in mind in order to
individualize treatment.
Assessments also aim to provide
diagnostic information to support
in developing specific treatment
goals.

Assessment

FAQs

No, we are an out-of-network provider, which means payment is due directly at the time of service. We’ll provide you
with a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential
reimbursement. Reimbursement eligibility and amounts vary, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to
confirm your out-of-network benefits. For reference, the primary CPT (procedure) codes we use are 90791, 90834,
90846, and 90847.

Do you take insurance?

To better understand your needs, we must first understand who you are. At Steady Wellness, all services begin with an
initial assessment. These appointments are typically conducted in one sitting of at least 1 hour and involved an
exploration of your full picture: from family history, to current symptoms, to future goals and aspirations. We want to get
to know YOU in order to understand how best to support and design individualized services. While this first evaluation
helps set the course for counseling, assessments continue throughout the therapeutic process. Open and honest
communication is key during this stage. As therapy evolves and both the client and therapist develop a deeper
understanding, adjustments or reassessments may be necessary.
